Marie, I just noticed your Mary L. (Gayton) married to Daniel F. Perkins in the 1880 Federal census. As u wrote, they lived in Alton, NH in 1880, the year of the fed. census. There are children: Susan H. age 5, born in MA; Margaret E., age 3, born also in MA; and Grace E., age 1, born in NH. It says your Mary L. Perkins' father & mother were both born in Ireland while she was born in MA. Dan Perkins' parents were both born in NY while he was born in MA. I do not know if this is any help in your search, but u can view this info in the 1880 census for free by going to The Latter Day Saints Site which is familysearch.org and look for "search" Hope thois will be of some help to you. Dave O'Connell (Gayton in-law)
