Barbara, I believe there are some items in this posting which are not correct.
The Johnathan Gaylord who was in the Revolutionary War, born October 29, 1747 in Middletown Upper Houses, died in Stow Ohio in 1819. The Johnathan who died in 1826 was his son.
Johnathan senior married Elizabeth Goodwin in 1773 too late to be parents of Lois, b. abt 1770. The children of Johnathan and Elizabeth are found in "Middletown Upper Houses" by Charles Collard Adams, and no Lois is mentioned as a possible child. This book mentions nothing about a previous wife for Johnathan, either.
There is an ancestral file for Lois in the LDS site, which traces her back to Walter - an ancestor of Johnathan, but she was through Walter's first wife, Mary Stebbins, while Johnathan came through Walter's second wife, Sarah Rockwell.
