I don't know if there's a connection or not but hoping to find out. My grandmother was born in Maryland in 1883 in Cambridge, MD. Her mother was Julia Ann Smith and Father was Marion Marcellis Daneker. The story I've heard is that Julia was the daughter of a sea captain(Smith) who was married to a Gayle (Gale, Gail?). Assuming that Julia was at least 20 when she had my grandmother, she would have been born in 1863 or earlier. Assuming her mother was at least 20, she would have been born in 1843 or earlier. Both your Sarah A. and Ann E. were born in the 1830's which puts them at the right age to be Julia Ann's mother. Do you know if either of them married a Smith and/or a sea captain?
