Thanks Sue, but the Nancy, daughter of Martin born 1872, died in 1882. I have looked and looked in the census and I don't think she was enumerated before 1900. She married in Rowan County KY in 1893. No Gayhart/Gayheart/Gearhart/or Gearhearts there in 1880 census. The 1900 census shows her in Rowan county and states she was born in KY and her father in VA and mother in KY. Family stories say she was 1/2 Indian and came to live with her real father (had Indian mother)at a later age. Must have lived with her Indian mother for some time after birth? The 1890 Cencus may have shown her but that doesn't exist. I'm working on obtaining her death certificate hoping to find something on it.
