Gilbert Gay, son of Allen Gay, is my ggg grandfather, who married Sarah Stamps. There is some controversy or disagreement about who Gilbert Gay's mother really was, and if our Allen Gay was the one who married Celia Rae Elbert. I see a marriage date for Allen Gay and Celia Rae Elbert, and I wonder if you happen to have a copy of that marriage record? I wonder if there could have been another Allen Gay in that area who might have married Celia Rae Elbert? It seems curious because her father's will does not even mention her or Allen Gay, and some Gay researchers of these lines also question whether Samuel Elbert had a daughter named Celia...can anyone shed any light on this mystery, as far as documentation goes, one way or the other? (aside from DAR applications, which I have sent for, but which do not include copies of documentation or verification of the info given re: Celia Rae Elbert or Allen Gay, the Rev War soldier.)
