Allen Gay, born 1765 in Northhampton County, North Carolina was my gggg grandfather. I have quite alot of info on the Gay family line, and show the following for Allen's daughter Temperence Ann Gay who married William Brock: Temperance Ann (Tempie) Gay born ca 1799 in Green County, GA married ca 1813 to William S. (Billy) Brock. Temperance died July 17, 1869 in Coweta County, Georgia and is buried at Brock's Cemetery in Henry County, GA. I don't have a birthdate for William S. Brock, but show he died during the Civil War. Their children: John, (no birthdate shown) Allen, (no birthdate shown) but says "had a large family of children, and John is buried at Cedar Creek Church burying ground, a few miles southwest of Palmetto, GA; Sarah (no birthdate or other info shown), Emaline, married to Frank Green, moved to Texas,had a large family of children; Dan, married to Fannie Hogan, and died in a battle near Richmond, VA; William Thomas born June 1825, married Polly Ann Attaway; Marion, born in GA and died in Franklin, County, AK. Allen Gay died June 18, 1847 and is buried at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery near Newnan, Georgia. Family tale is that he was buried with his horse.
