I think you better check with your mother. Daniel was married twice. First family had two sons: Charlie and Arthur and one daughter Nellie?
The second marriage, to Margaret Dunn, produced two sons. Harold Howard who is your grandfather and William.
William in turn married Lavern Miller and had four sons: Daniel, Donald, Richard and Randolph.
Margaret and Danial had two daughter: Helen and Lillian. Helen married Alan Nesbitt and had three daughter:
Patricia, Barbara and Nancy (me). Lillian married Theodore Hamel and there were no children.
I recall that Daniel was raised by a couple maiden aunts. Someone came from France, but that was suppose to be written down in the family bible that your grandfather had. The bible went to your uncle David Gay. Never heard that Daniel was born in England. Gay is French I thought, common like Smith is in US.. All I ever heard was the the Gay side of family was French.
