See NEHGR, January 1976 article discussing identity of Joanna (_____)Borden. Consider: Johane Hooker, d/o Robert Hooker and Margaret Topley, Christened 12 April 1612 Lenham, Kent, England, who married John Borden 16 Feb 1629, Lenham, Kent, England and had Matthew, 1629 and Elizabeth in 1632 (IGI records)
Family lore that Joanna was sister of John Borden posing as his wife cannot be true since Joan Borden died in infancy 1593.
Entries showing her name as Burden or Baldwicke are genealogical junk!
