William Gay, Jefferson/Richmond Cnty Ga.

I am looking for any information on William Gay around or before 1800 in Jefferson County, Ga. Don't know parents or siblings, but know that he married Ellen (or Ellender) Arrington, also of Jefferson County, Ga, in Jefferson County on January 29, 1817. They lived in Jefferson County for some time after that and had a least one child named James, born March 22, 1827 in Jefferson County. I believe the family moved to Richmond County sometime in the 1840's or 1850's, where James settled. James had children by both his first and second wives, and I have information on both families. I would appreciate any information about William or what family he might fit into.
