Sophia Mitchell (1793-1869), both born in Virginia and died in St. Louis. Their children were Edward James Gay (1816-1889), Ann Jane Gay (1817-1849), Susan Gay (1820-1846), John Henderson Gay, Jr. (1824-1849), and William Thomas Gay (1828-1895). E J Gay was my gg-grandfather, and one of his grandsons was U.S. Sen. Edward James Gay of Louisiana (1878-1952). I don't know of Martha Wilson Williams.
