Will of Thomas Gay. Wife Patience Gay to have use of plantation where she now lives during her widowhood; the use of negro Simon, and all the household furniture and stock (except the stud horse King. At her remarriage or death, the land mentioned above to go to son William. To son Joshua 100 acres where he now lives. To daughter Temperance Walker 1 negro girl Phebe. To son Allen 140 acres adjoining Wilson Denson on Cypress Creek; the negro boy Jemmy. To son John negro boy Major. To son Gilbert Gay negro wench Pleaz, but her increase to be divided after son Gilberd comes of age among son Thomas and daughters Joanna and Polly. To son Thomas Gay the stud horse King, all cash in hand adn debts due estate to be sold and proceeds equally divided among all children then alive. All stock and household furniture after wife's remarriage or death to be sold and proceeds divided among all children then living and with negro Simon if he is alive. Executors: Friend Burwell Perry, son Joshua Gay. February 21, 1784. His mark. Witnessed: Stephen Sorsey, Jeremiah Perry, Burwell Perry, Allen Gay.
