Mathew Gay was born c. 1780 in Franklin, N.C. d. in 1843 in Emanuel Co., GA. He married Martha Deal on 3/10/1804 in Bulloch Co., Ga. Had children Louis, Benjamin, Absolum, Mitchell, richard, Batte, Mary. I am looking for his parents. Some say it was a Joshua Gay, but that has proven to be incorrect. I believe it could have been Zerababel Gay b. in 1755 in Edgecomb Co., N.C. or a Henry Gay. Anyone having any information on these please email me or write to: 201 Niver Rd. Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
