Richard Gawthroup of Histon, 1744 In the name of God, Amen, I Richard Gawthroup of Histon, in the County of Cambridge, Blacksmith, do make and declare this my last will and testement in manner and form following. That is to say, I give, devise and bequeth unto Mary, my loving wife, to her heirs and asigns forever, all and singular my freehold and copyhold estates lying and being in Histon aforesaid parsih fields and bounds thereof elsewhere. Also all and singular my goods, chattels and personal whatsoever and wheresoever, after payment of my just debts and funeral expenses, which I now have and hereafter shall or may be posssessed of and leave at the time of my decease, I give and bequeth unto my said wife Mary, her executors, administrators and asigns. And I make ordain, constitute and appoint her, the said Mary, sole executor of this my last will and testement, hereby revoking, disannulling, and making void all former and other wills by my at any time hereafter made. In witness wherof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 28th day of March, in the year of our lord 1744. X (The mark of Richard Gawthroup) Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said Richard Gawthroup, the testator to be his last will and testement in the presence of us, who at his request have hereunto set our names as witnesses thereto in his presence: William Sumpter, John Turkle, John Moors.
