Gawthrop DNA group?

Have any Gawthrops/Gawthorps or related surnames taken a DNA test?

I have no male line Gawthrops whom I can ask for a DNA sample, but if there is a Gawthrop out there who has a proven family tree which links into the Histon Gawthrops (all of whom ultimately stem from Richard Gawthrop who married Mary Gignor at Holy Trinity church in Cambridge in 1728), I would gladly pay for him (it has to be a male, as women do not have Y DNA) to take such a test and share the results.

What would be really interesting is if there were enough Gawthrops/Gawthorps willing to take the DNA test and form a DNA research group. Because it is a relatively unsual surname, it would be ideal for a DNA group project. It would be fascinating to know how the different branches of the name in the UK, America, etc all fit in together.

Colin.
