A very long will this one with much legal jargon, so I have only summarised the salient points.

Thomas Holden Gawthrop,

I Thomas Holden Gawthrop of Marston Mortaine, in the county of Bedford, bachelor in divinity, do give and bequeath to my dear wife Sarah Gawthrop, six silver table spoons, a pair of silver sugar tongs, and my best silver tea pot and stand.
To my daughter Mary Ann Gawthrop four silver table spoons, two silver desert spoons and a silver cream jug.
To my son John Charles Gawthrop six silver table spoons, two silver desert spoons and six silver tea spoons.
To my son William Thomas Gawthrop I give all the rest of my silver plate.
I further will that until my children reach 21, my wife shall have custody of these articles.
I request that the silver Coffee Pot given me by my Excellent father in law, Mr Oliver be preserved out of respect for his memory.
I give to my brother, John Gawthrop, my Gold watch, and request that on his death he will it to my son William Thomas Gawthrop.
I give to my son William Thomas Gawthrop all my books, private papers and prints except such as have the names of my other children written in them.
To my wife, such of my furniture, china, linen and glass as she may desire, and also all the wines, liquors and provisions as may be in the house at my decease. Also the sum of £50.
Whereas I am a contributor to the joint stock and fund of the corporation of the amiable society for a perpetual Assurance instituted by Queen Anne, and am entitled to 13 shares, by virtue of four policies of assurance. And whereas I have insured my life at the policies life assurance office for the sums of £800, £600 and £1000. I now bequeath to my wife and my brother John Gawthrop all such shares - this money to be used to set up a trust for my children, to be transferred to them at age 21.
Also mentions monies bequeathed to him in trust for his daughter Mary Ann, by the will of the lat Agnes ?Inman?, of Sedbergh, Yorkshire (dated 28 Dec 1827)
All residue of my estate to my wife Sarah.

       4th Feb 1837
