Bridget,
I guess we are distant cousins of some sort. Are you blood related to Francis or Gertrude? You mentioned that Francis Aloysius Gavaghan was your grandfather. He was my grandfather's cousin. My grandfather was Francis Dennis Gavaghan and he was married to Eleanor Louise Hoffman. My maiden name is Gavaghan. My family records show that your grandfather was known as "Dish". I'd love to include more of your branch of the Gavaghan's to my family tree!
