Hi! I found some of the given names of your Gavaghan family of interest because my family (various spellings back in Co. Roscommon, Ireland, include Gavaghan, Gavikin, Gavican, Gaviken, Gavikan - then Americanized to Gavagan) shared some of the same. Among them were Thomas, Robert, Edward, Richard, James, Bessie, Elizabeth, Nettie, Alice, and Mary Agnes. At the age of seventeen,Robert, my gr-gfr., emigrated from Ireland to Boston, MA (via Quebec in 1847), where he lived out his life. Robert & Mary Agnes LYNCH, whom he married in 1859, raised a family of either nine or ten children in Boston. My grandfather, Thomas, moved to Providence, RI. The rest of the story will follow if you are interested and see any kind of connection.
