Karen- Possibly. What I have claims that he was "liberally educated, a lawyer by profession." Later in this family dissertation, it also says from 1765-1767 he was the Assistant Alderman of the Dock Ward of the City of New York and from 1768-1773 the Alderman from the same ward. I have more info regarding him if you think you are connected.
