Parents of Jean Gautier (John Gootee)
Posted by: Jerry Gootee (ID *****7059) Date: September 03, 2009 at 11:11:27

I'm searching for parent information on John Gootee (Jean Gautier), a French citizen, who arrived on the Eastern shore of Maryland in February 1662, sponsored by Antoine LeCompte, a Gentleman and large landowner in Maryland.
John was married to Margaret, whose last name is unknown but believed to be Beeson or Beason. Margaret and a son, Joseph, arrived in Maryland in 1666. John and Margaret Gottee (sic) were naturalized on 19 April 1671 and listed as "Citizens of France". Any help on Jean Gautier's parents would be appreciated. You can reach me by email at: gooteesr@sbcglobal.net. Thank you.
