Jean-Pierre,

I don't know if that is the couple that I am looking for. As I said in my first post I'm trying to follow my grandfather, Francois Gauthier, and his family. His father Alphonse, mother Onesime Elise Dumas & two children moved to Indian Orchard, Springfield in the 1870s.

I am trying to figure out why they choose Springfield. I know that in 1880 they had three of the wife's sisters living with them. Also in the same building was a Joseph Dumas who likely was an older brother.

Coincidentally there are Joseph & Delia Gauthier living next door. This is the only mention that I've been able to find of them. I am trying to figure out if Joseph was a relative and if so what was the relation.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll try the surname of Jodoin & see if that helps.

Tom Hayden
