The GAUT family married into my MOWERY family but maybe this can help others. Most of the GAUT information was obtained from the LDS site.
John1 Gaut was born in Ireland 1760.
John died 5 March 1833 in Dandridge, Jefferson County, TN, at 72 years of age.
He married Letitia McCall. Letitia was born 25 September 1768. Letitia died 25 October 1849 in Dandridge, Jefferson County, TN, at 81 years of age.
John Gaut and Letitia McCall had the following child:
+ 2 i. Joseph2 Gaut was born 16 July 1798.
2. Joseph2 Gaut (John1) was born in Jefferson County, TN 16 July 1798. Joseph died 13 March 1885 in Bradley County, TN, at 86 years of age.
He married Delilah Jones 2 September 1830. Delilah was born in Jefferson County, TN 25 September 1807. Delilah died 10 June 1887 in Cleveland, Bradley County, TN, at 79 years of age.
Joseph Gaut and Delilah Jones had the following children:
+ 3 i. John J.3 Gaut was born 3 August 1831.
4 ii. Charlotte Gaut was born in Jefferson County, TN 1833.
5 iii. Simeon Perry Gaut was born in Jefferson County, TN 16 April 1835. Simeon died 13 September 1897 in Cleveland, Bradley County, TN, at 62 years of age.
6 iv. George Gaut was born in Jefferson County, TN 1840.
7 v. Martha Adaline Gaut was born in Jefferson County, TN 17 May 1842. Martha died 12 April 1919 in Bradley County, TN, at 76 years of age.
+ 8 vi. Rufus Gaut was born 16 January 1844.
9 vii. Margaret Gaut was born in Jefferson County, TN 1846
3 John J.3 Gaut (Joseph2, John1) was born in Jefferson County, TN 3 August 1831. John died 29 November 1913 in Clarendon, Donley County, TX, at 82 years of age.
He married Margaret Angeline Bryan in Sevierville, Sevier County, TN, 15 March 1855. Margaret was born in Henry Cross Roads, Sevier County, TN about 1832. Margaret was the daughter of Thomas C. Bryan and Nancy Cate. Margaret died 20 November 1915 in Claredon, Donley, TX, at 83 years of age.
John J. Gaut and Margaret Angeline Bryan had the following children:
10 i. Jerusa Jane4 Gaut was born in Sevier County, TN 10 May 1856.
11 ii. Sally Ann Gaut was born in Sevier County, TN 12 October 1859. Sally died 26 April 1895 in Near Combs Store, OK, at 35 years of age. Her body was interred in Port Cemetery, Port Indian Territory (now OK). She married Robert Henry Mowery in Decatur, Wise County, TX, 18 January 1880. Robert was born Bradley County, TN 29 February 1856. Robert was the son of Louis Alexander Mowery and Mary Jane Hays. Robert died 26 September 1934 in Rush Springs, OK, at 78 years of age. His body was interred in Rush Springs, OK
12 iii. Marquis Lafayette Gaut was born in Sevier County, TN 24 October 1859.
13 iv. Robert Bruce Gaut was born in Sevier County, TN 17 June 1861.
14 v. Joseph J. Gaut was born in Bradley County, TN 24 February 1863.
15 vi. Frances Luella Gaut was born in Bradley County, TN 24 February 1863.
16 vii. Charles Thomas Gaut was born Bradley County, TN 3 June 1865.
17 viii. James "Rufus" Gaut was born in Cleveland, Bradley County, TN 20 September 1867.
18 ix. Delilah Gaut was born Bradley County, TN 1 May 1869.
19 x. Betty A. Gaut was born Bradley County, TN 5 May 1870.
20 xi. Lucy Charlotte Gaut was born in Bradley County, TN 29 July 1872.
21 xii. John Alexander Gaut was born in Bradley County, TN 8 August 1874
8 Rufus3 Gaut (Joseph2, John1) was born in Jefferson County, TN 16 January 1844. Rufus died 10 May 1913 in Sweetwater, TN, at 69 years of age.
He married Betty Latimer in Monroe County, TN, 29 September 1874.
Rufus Gaut and Betty Latimer had the following children:
