Seeking parents of Benjamin B... Gause. Parents, date and place of birth unknown. Died 1843, Brunswick Co., NC According to his grandson Charles Eyden Gause, Benjamin married 1) Amelia Holden (b. 8 June 1796) and was living at/near Gause's Landing in Br. Co. in 1825 when their son Ephraime DeVaun/Charles (named was changed 2X) was born. Amelia died when son was small. Benjamin then married Sarah Holden Stanland, widow of Thomas Stanland and dau. of Job Holden. Benjamin and Sarah had dau. Catharine Ann b. ca 1835. Estate records in NC Archives dated Mar. 1844 show that Sarah Gause of Br. Co., widow of Benjamin B. Gause who died intestate "sometime in the year 1843", petitioned the court for a year's allowance for the support of herself and family. Was Benjamin B. Family researcher Sally McNeil believes the two most likely candidates are Bryan(t) Gause who died in Horry District, SC in 1804 (prob. son of Wm I) or Benjamin I (son of Wm I) 's son Benjamin. Can anyone shed further light or add to this discussion? This information would plug the gap in this line of my family and many others, including Sally . Thanks
