I have information on "Sallie" Boyd Gause. It was taken from the family Bible and from my grandmother's recollection. I have verified the information from census records for S.C. Sallie's name was Sarah Elizabeth Boyd but everyone called her Sallie. Her father was Robert T. Boyd, Jr. I don't recall her mothers name but my mother knows and I will try to get you the information. She was married to "Darty" Gause, whose real name was Westley Coke Asbury Daughtry Gause. There are 2 Westley Coke's one in Mississippi (from N.C.) and one known as Darty from S.C. This is the one from Red Bluff, S.C. born 6/1/1855 or 6/1/54. The Bible shows 6/1/55 while the tombstone shows 6/1/54. His siblings were 1)Edward I "Ned" Gause, 2)William Acie (Asa in the census) Gause, 3)Rubin W Gause, 4)Emeline E. Gause, 5)Darty was the 5th child, and 6)Orren M. Gause. Darth and Sallie's children were 1)Minnie Mae Gause, 2)Orren Teadman Gause, 3)Sarah Elizabeth Gause, 4)Willie Vernon Gause, 5)George Milton Gause, 6)Dettie M. Gause, 7)Charlotte "Lottie" A. Gause, 8) Sarah E. "Early" Gause 9)Robert Ernest Gause, 10)Leah Anna Gause "pronounced like Leigh" 11)Newman Cokeland Gause. My grandfather was Newman. He died in April 1994 and none of the other children are alive,but my grandmother is still alive. She knew grandma Sallie and visited her as a child with her mother before Sallie died.
