It's great to finally find someone actively researching this branch of the Gaulding family. The statement that Clementine Gaulding had a son named Archibald was a typing mistake. It was meant to be Emily's William Archibald Edwards. Can't believe it went unnoticed for over a year as I checked often to see if anyone responded to the message. What made me think John N. and Archibald were brothers was the fact that Martha, John's wife and Archibald's mother was living in the household of John N. in Troup County. She could have been living with her nephew, but it has raised doubts in my mind. Archibald had ties to Troup County also though he never lived there to my knowledge. I have also geographically attempted to trace them. It seems to me that they arrived in GA (Elbert Oglethorpe area)around 1811 or shortly thereafter. I've wondered if Jesse & John (second cousins and parents of John and Martha)came along with Alexander Jr? Jesse's 1st cousin? These are not statements, just questions. John and Martha to Bibb Co and Jesse seems to have never left Oglethorpe. Anyway I do know they never ventured too far from North Central GA unless they left the state. All the South GA Gauldings were my relatives through A.A. Gaulding's son, James Smith Gaulding who went to FL after the Civil War and for some reason settled in Berrien/Tift County on his way back. I have narrowed it to sorting those families who came at that time. Wish it were as easy as it is to say :)You can email me at there's a lot to talk about. I am still studying over the information you posted. Thanks!
