Richard James Gaul - Kilkenny

My great grandfather, Richard James Gaul, was born about 1853 in Ireland (I hear in Kilkenny)and according to 1900 Illinois census came here in about 1870 and lived in Chicago area. His son, John Joseph Gaul, is my grandfather. Does anyone know if and how he is related to any of the other Gauls from Kilkenny that others have posted here about?
