Terry, Thanks so much for posting these pictures. They are great! What is your line? I am working on the Gattis line from NC to GA to AR although some went on to TX. Thomas J Gattis, Born NC about 1823/24 md Mary/Polly Maddry, January 1845 in Orange Co., NC, children Mary Caroline, born 1845, and Thomas Jefferson Taylor born 1847 or 1849, in GA. Thomas had two other wives: Francis Maxey (md 1856) and (Mrs.) Mary Kennedy (md 1865, whose maiden name may have been Lassiter.) Thomas Jefferson Taylor married Rebecca Crossno in AR. Mary Caroline married William Henry Harrison Gattis and moved to Sherman, TX where she died. She is buried in the Friendship Cemetery if you ever get that way.
We are trying to sort out the Gattis's and determine which was Thomas's father. Also would like to solve the puzzle re what happened to wife #2. Judy
