Hello Marty,
I just read your posting regarding the connection between African-American and Caucasian Gatlings in Hertford County. I was at the Hertford County Courthouse in Winton on 9/7/00 and was elated to discover much information on local Gatlings. It sounds as if you are well along in your research and perhaps you are already familiar with the resources at the courthouse. I too am an African-American Gatling whose father was born in Murfeesboro. I am new to the genealogy business but I learned from reviewing death records at Winton that my fathers great-grandfather was born in Northampton County. Now I have to broaden my search to that county. I would love to get more information from you regarding the Gatling Family Reunion and any information you have that might assist me in my search. Thanks.
