Looking for information on J. R. Gatlin. He had at least two sons. J. Hurbert Gatlin and Joshua O. Gatlin. J. R. Gatlin married Addie Johnson Jackson in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee on 19 Apr 1917. Joshua O. Gatlin was in the army and died in Greenville, SC at Camp Seveir. I have post card of J O Gatlin writing his brother Hurbert Gatlin in 1916 from Eagle Pass, Texas. He mentions he wrote Grandmother a letter two weeks ago. Can’t make out the month to clear but it appears to be sent on May 19, 1916. On another post card written on the back, Joshua O. Gatlin died at Camp Sevier, Greensville, SC. Lived at 930 Madison St., Nashville, Tenn. On the front of this card is a picture of a soldier and it is a possible picture of Joshua O. Gatlin. J. O. Gatlin sent a post card to Mary Johnson (Addie's sister) on October 8, 1917 from Greenville, SC. Mary wrote a note in response to J. O. Gatlin at Camp Sevier, Greenville, SC dated Oct. 11, 1917. This card was never mailed. Addie L. Johnson Jackson (my great grandmother) married a J. R. Gatlin in Nashville, Tennessee on April 19, 1917. We have a small newspaper clipping for this marriage among the personal effects of W. H. Johnson. The marriage didn’t last long. Addie moved back home with her Father (W. H. Johnson) and Mother (Nancy Johnson). They moved from Nashville, Tennessee to Monroe, NC for a few months and then moved to Greenwood, SC where they spent the rest of their lives. Any information concerning Addie's marriage to J. R. Gatlin would be greatly appreciated. Notify Administrator about this message?
