I still need to confirm this, but through a second party source, I found Samuel Gatliff, (son of Thomas Charles Gatliff) born about 1725 in Pennsylvania. Samuel died in 1806 in Philadelphia, PA and his wife was listed as Elizabeth Corbin Griffin. If that is correct, then the 1796 marriage date you have is incorrect. I don't like to share information I haven't absolutely confirmed as accurate, but since you're looking for him too, maybe this will help. What I also found through the same source, is that Thomas Charles Gatliff was born in 1700 in England and died in Pennsylvania in 1742. If those dates are accurate, he couldn't have arrived in America before he was born at about the same time of William Penn. What I have found is that Thomas Charles Gatliff, wife Margaret Caldwater, were parents of James (my family ancestor) born 1720, Reese born 1722, Samuel born about 1725, Elizabeth born 1728 and Mary born 1731, all children were born in Pennsylvania, both parents were born in England. I hope this helps and if it is incorrect, please let me know.
