George: Thomas Dixon Gatliff was the son of Thomas C. Gatliff Jr. Thomas D. did a book as you probably recall. His wife was Charlotte Aiken and their only child, (to my knowledge) was Thomas Franklin Gatliff.
Thomas Cornelius Gatliff Sr. was the son of Christiana, whom I believe to be a Dau. of Capt. Charles Gatliff. One of his sisters, Elizabeth, was my GGGGrandmother. I would be very interested in the letter and how it came into your possession.
