Timothy;
The book "Atwell Bowcock Gatewood Ancestry And Descendants" by Gorden Jefferson Gatewood has about 20 pages dedicated to Thomas Jefferson Gatewood, From Virginia to Missouri, and Our Missouri Cousins. Enoch died at a young age and apparently had no other children. Per Gorden Gatewood, Josie was raised by her aunt Mrs. Tom Northcutt, a sister of Enoch and that she eventually married a man by the name of Rountree. "She is not listed with the Northcutt family on census reports. Nor does Dolly Northcutt and Amelia S. Castleberry mention her in '"Northcutt and Allied Families."' The Rountree families of Missouri and Oklahoma have no record of her. The result of searching and advertising is negative." Fanny U Gatewood's grave is in Rocky Comfort Cemetery in the extreme Northeast corner of McDonald county Missouri. She was daughter of Capt. Enoch Harding and Elizabeth Kendal. She was born 8 July 1799 Stafford Co.Va. Married T. J. 9 Feb 1826, d. 24 Dec 1883. The burial place for Thomas Jefferson Gatewood is somewhere near the family homestead in Boone county Missouri. The last parcel of land purchased by T.J. Gatewood is now within the confines of Columbia, Missouri. Gorden Gatewood was in Tulia, Texas when I met him some 30 years ago. His book is excellent and contains a lot of information. Hope this helps. Roy Gatewood
