Looking for the descendants of James J. Gates (b. 1861) and Elizabeth J. Legg (b. 1867) of Lee Co. Virginia. I have the children as follows:
James K Gates (1888-1956)
Lennie G Gates (1889-1927)
John B Gates (1891-1915)
William Clarence Gates (1893-1952)
Malinda C. Gates (1895-)
Winfield Scott Gates (1897-1959)
Myrtle V. Gates (1900-)
Ethel C. Gates (1903-1999)
Theodore Gates (1905-1975)
Olen G. Gates (1907-1958)
George D. Gates (1908-2000)
Bascomb R. Gates (1912)
I've come across some confusion. Someone is putting it out there that James, Elizabeth and their children come from Henry, Missouri. James J. Gates has his birth place as NC. And the Legg side all comes from Keokee, Lee VA. (my family)
I'd like to know who married and had children. And if I have any children wrong. I'm using census records and some sketchy family history.
