Mrs. E. F. Gates
Mrs. E. F. Gates, mother of Mrs. C. W. Kugelman of 1805 Highland Avenue, this city, died yesterday afternoon at her home on South Fourth Street, Ironton. She had been ill a week, during most of which time Mrs. Kugelman was at her bedside. Death was caused by peritonitis.
Mr. Kugelman left last evening to join his wife at Ironton. Mrs. Gates spent most of her life in Ironton and Ashland and was well known in this section. She had visited here frequently and had many friends in Portsmouth.
Surviving besides Mrs. Kugelman, are the husband, Ed F. Gates of Ironton, and two other daughters, Mrs. D. E. Silver, of Cleveland and Mrs. Thomas O’Lenry of Ironton.
Funeral services will be conducted at Ironton, probably Thursday afternoon.
