William Gates purchased from the US land in Clark County Missouri. The transaction was recorded at Palmyra, MO the 1st of Dec 1851. Where was William born and what about his family? I am looking for the father of Jerry Gates who was 15 years old living with his mother Mary M 43 and 2 younger brothers in Clark County in the 1880 census. The brothers were William 8 and Ben 5.
The boys were all born in MO Mary Ky and the boys father in Va.
