On page 32 of the 1865 book "George Gates of East Haddam, Connecticut and His Descendants" by D. Williams Patterson, Silence Gates, born March 31, 1766, is listed as a daughter of Paul and Mehitable (Rogers) Gates. It is stated that this Silence Gates married "Rowland Percival" in January, 1787.
