Reply to Les Mellot:It hasbeen many years
since I have done any work on my Gates
family,but I do have info you might be
interest in. For instance I have an old copy
of a note that reads as follows: Church
Register, St. Andrew's Church,Hingman,
Norfolk, England. "Stephen Gates & Ann Veae
were married 05 May,l628. Marie daughter of
Steven Gates & Ann his wife was baptised l7
Oct. l636. (Other names were
continued.Thomas, Mary & Joseph..a bit
difficult to read.) There was a bok published
by. Charles O. Gates in l898.."Stephen Gates
of Hingham & Lancaster, Mass." The book had
been seen in the Boston library by a friend.
There was another book "Stephen Gates and
Some of His Descendants.Will share what I
have if you will send me your mailing
address.
