This is what I have on Isabella's parents. Phillip Gates b. 1776 unknown where, possibly VA d. 1847 Franklin Co AL; Catherine Hamilton(some have Hampton) b. ca1778 unknown where, d. before 1825 as Phillip m. a second wife Margaret T. Henley on Jan 31, 1825 in Russellville, AL. I have these children listed:
Girl Gates b. ?, William b. ?, Isabella b. Oct 12, 1800, Valentine b. 1804, Sarah M. b. Nov. 21, 1807, Phillip b. unknown, Helen b. unknown, Catherine b. unknown.
Phillip is reported to be the son of Charles Gates(Rev. War) b. 1738, d. Oct 9, 1845 Jefferson Co GA, m. July 1, 1756 in VA to Elizabeth Unknown b. Feb 26, 1735 VA, d. Dec 17, 1807 GA. Charles said to be from Henry Co VA, went to SC, onto GA.
