this is the information I have on Charles W. Gates however it all goes backward anything in the forward direction would be greatly appreciated.

Charles W. Gates, b. Apr. 17, 1852 in Ellery, Chautauqua Co. N.Y. He was the fourth child of Grandison and Lucy Dawley Gates.

Grandison and Lucy Dawley Gates m. Oct 26 1845. Seven children:

Theresa M. Gates b. Aug 3, 1846 in Ellery,Chaut. Co. NY

Susan E. Gates b. Aug. 9, 1849 in Ellery,Chaut. Co. NY

George A. Gates b. Sept 28, 1850 in Ellery,Chaut. Co.NY

Charles W. Gates b. Apr. 17, 1852 in Ellery

Albert C. Gates b. Feb. 26, 1854 in Ellery

B. Freemont Gates b. Apr. 18, 1857 in Canoe, Iowa

Eva S. Gates b. Oct. 11, 1858 in canoe Iowa

Grandison Gates was the first child of Alonzo G. and Emily Mount Gates. They were married on Dec. 19, 1822 Five children:

Alonzo G. Gates was the third child of Zepheniah and Abigail Griffith Gates. Zepheniah and Abigail Griffith Gates had eleven children:
