General Horatio Gates left NO posterity! There are NO descendants of General Horation Gates.
General Horatio Gates of Revolutionary War fame was a descendant of John Gates, and was born in England, sixth generation from Geoffrey Gates.
All of this information is well documented and has been for years. Many Gates families have claimed relationship to the famous General, and most are related, but not as closely as what is rumored.
