Hello from your cousin, George Gates of Ohio. You are decendent of Oliver Perry Gates, I'm a decendent of his brother Jacob Frederick Gates. I have been blessed with some family pictures of William Michael Gates, his wife Barbara and the six children they had,including Oliver P. Gates. Oliver went to W. Va. I beleive, Jacob worked in the mines in s.w. Pa. until the 1920's then moved to Jackson Ohio. He farmed the remainder of his life.
