Pamela, I have a Samuel P. Whisenant b. 4/11/1847 who married Mary J. Gates b. 1853. They had a homestead in Searcy Co., Ark. Also living in the same vicinity is a Peter A. Gates. Could Mary and Peter be part of your family? I am a descendant of the Whisenant family. Thank you so much. Joy Baldwin
