Prudence Lorena Gaston, b. 1834 Chester Co, SC

Prudence Lorena Gaston, born 1834 in Chester Co, SC and her first husband, Charles William Sanders, are purported to be my 4G grandparents. There seems to be much information available about Lorena's marriage to her second husband, Thomas Greenbury Hudson, but little on her first husband.

Does anyone with knowledge of these folks know of any direct evidence that Lorena was first married to William Sanders and also any direct evidence that the daughter of James A. Gaston named Prudence L. Gaston in the 1850 census in Chester Co is in fact the same Prudence who first married William Sanders?

Also, why is her name given as Mary Lorena Hudson on her tombstone, more specifically, where did the first name Mary come from? I've seen documents that call her Prudence (census records primarily) and Lorena (everything from census records to printed obituaries to the death certificate of her daughter Mary Lorena Sanders), but no where have I seen her named Mary.

Was Mary another middle name? Her tombstone can be seen here: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/5111704/person/-941109553.

Thank you,
Greg Matthews
