Ellen or Ellender MCKENZIE was a member of the Flat Lick Baptist Church.According to notes I copied in the 1980s (from Ernestine McCartt 208 E. Oak St Somerset KY) from the historical society in Somerset Ky, McKenzies sold the land for the Flat Lick Church (originally built in 1779) and cemetery.Alexander MCKENZIE was born in Scotland and died on the way to KY.His wife Sarah Daulton McKenzie, also born in Scotland, and children settled at Flat Lick.Their son David MCKENZIE, who sold property for the cemetery, married Mary Ann Fergueson.David (b.1763 d.1849) and Mary Ann (b.1775 d.1829)had two sons, John MCKENZIE (B.1795 m. 1818 d.1852 in Pulaski KY) who married Susannah Bobbitt and Nicholas MCKENZIE(who died before 1849).Other offspring listed for the McKenzies were all female -so would not likely pass the name.I'll wager that Ellen/der was a member of this family.
