Chloe Gass Smith, 93, of West Pines Road, Afton, TN,
passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the home of her
daughter, Helen Crews, of Mosheim, TN. She was born June
She was a former employee of Sam Moore Chair Company.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Union Temple United Methodist
She was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Gass; and
was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charlie
Robert Smith; grandchildren, Roger Glen Smith, Brian Robert
Smith, Donna Franklin, Vickie Mays, and Nancy Annette
Smith; brothers, Luna Gass, Jimmie Gass, Thomas Gass, and
Robert Gass; sisters, Jane Gass, Hattie Kathern Gass,
Bessie Hendry, Pearl Babb, and Dorothy Smith.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and
Bernice Smith; two daughters and a son-in-law, Helen and
Bobby Crews, and Josephine Malone; grandchildren, Chris
Graham and wife Kandy, Billie Jo Malone, Glenda Malone,
Rhonda McAmis and husband Mike, Misty Barkley and husband
David, and Kim Lamb and husband David; great grandchildren,
Nathanial Aiken, Nikkie Reams, Danielle Fincher, Tyler
Graham, Michael McAmis, Jamie McAmis, Tanner Collins,
Meghan Lamb, and Kaci Franklin; great great grandchildren,
Candace Aiken, Chloe Reams, Joe Reams, and Jarrion Isom;
and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Smith.
The family will receive friends 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., and
6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at Kiser-Rose
Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday,
August 1, 2012, at Union Temple U M Church. Rev. Richard
Bowers and Rev. Gary Gass will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers
will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr.
Charles Montgomery, Junior Shackleford, Jimmy Strong, Gene
Starnes, and members of Union Temple UM Church.
Arrangements are by Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
