Okay, I see the problem. Your Irving Gass was the grand daughter of William & Eleanor (Gas) Gass. The Irving Gass I was talking about was their daughter Irving Gass (1762) who married Lambert Houk.

Nicholas Gass (1764)& Anna McIntosh produced the Irving Gass (John Enslow) you are looking for information on. When I dig out my old Gass books I will see if there is any info in them about the lines down from Nicholas Gass (1764), son of William who immigrated with Wiliam & Eleanor in 1773 along with Jane, Irving, Isabel, & Margaret. My ancestor who was the youngest was born in New York in 1776. There was an infant who was born at sea I believe in 1773 but there is nothing in our records to indicate if he/she lived or died. Only b. 1773 Infant.

Sorry about that I was looking at the aunt Irving as your Irving Gass. There are many crossover marriages between the Gass & the Irving families which we should be looking at more closely for a better picture of the entire Gass/Irving links.

Shen Smith
