Anne DeLashmitt Huddleston Gass, 95, of Knoxville, TN,
went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 7, 2008.
She was born November 21, 1912 in Bradley County, TN, to
Frank and Nellie Sullivan DeLashmitt. She was a member of
Sevier Heights Baptist Church.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; 2
sisters; and husbands, James Elton Huddleston and J. Paul
Gass.
Survivors include daughters, Jackie Huddleston Caton-Greene
and June Huddleston Thomas of Knoxville, Janice Huddleston
Wyatt (Dwayne) of New Johnsonville, TN; grandchildren,
Jerry Jonathan Thomas (Mary) of Fairfax, VA, David McSwain
Thomas (Anne) of Bowling Green, KY, Rebecca Thomas
Rothenburger (Kirby) of Taylor Mill, KY; great-grand-
children, Jennifer Thomas Jones (John), Rebekah Thomas
Short (Jake), Lisa Thomas Armstrong (T.J.), Jerry Jonathan
(Jon) Thomas III, Joy Thomas Neely (Dave), Matthew Thomas
(Sara); great, great, grandchildren, Catharine Lesemann,
Grant Rothenburger; great, great, great, grandchild, Nathan
Neely; sister, Elizabeth Barton of Rome, GA; numerous
nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
CAC/Office on Aging, Project Live, P.O. Box 51650,
Knoxville, TN 37950 or to the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Monday,
November 10, 2008, at the Mauseleum Chapel of Sherwood
Memorial Gardens on Alcoa Highway followed by an
entombment service conducted by her longtime Deacon, Dan
Kirkpatrick. Serving the family, Stevens Mortuary,
Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
