I am Joanne Warby nee Hooper and I was born in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. I was raised most of my formitive years in Masterton and come from families well entrenced in the Wairarapa. If anyone is researching George Gaskin and Esther Jane Southey and their 13 or 14 children (that I have found) please contact me as I would love to add your details to my large Hooper/Compton Tree which is tracing these very large families from the Wairarapa area of NZ. One of the children was Leonard Matthew Gaskin who married Alice May Hooper daughter of William Hooper and Charlotte Compton. Other Gaskin children that I have are Alfred Ernest, Charlotte Elizabeth, George Henry, Ettie Ethel Alice, Herbert Harold, Mary Ann, Olive Evelyn, Percival William, Sydney George, perhaps Sidney George, Victor Alexander, Vincent Arthur and Walter Jack (John?). They were all born in the Carterton area but Sidney married Dorothy May McIntosh in Dannevirke, New Zealand. I am trying to connect George (the father ) to Matthew or Samuel Gaskin and would love to hear from anyone who might have information that could helpme with this.
