I would like to see if the State Archives has a record of Tory confiscations. For Amos see Robert Bass, "Swamp Fox"if you can find it. Also Hugh Rankin's book. The bits and pieces found on Google are about all there is. Punch up Francis Marion, Major James Wemyss and Samuel Tynes and dig thru the items. John and Ezekiel both got grants on Lynch's Creek, only a year apart if I remember correctly. By 1774 Ezekiel was in Williamsburgh. John was on Tiller's Fork Creek in what is now Chesterfield County. No proof they are brothers, but when I talked to Gaskins in Williamsburgh and Kershaw Counties over 30 year ago they all told a similar tale: Their ancestor came from Scotland with a brother(or brothers), one settling in the Lowcountry and the other in the Upcountry. Both got land grants. One lived to a very advanced age. JAMES
