Hi James: The abstract I have states that Wright and John are grandchildren of Rosannah and that her son William is to be their guardian (have charge of them) which indicates that one or both parents are deceased and they are both minors which fits later documents. Rosannah's other children named in the will (besides WIlliam) are Hannah, Amos and Elizabeth. I don't have ages on any of Rosannah's children. I've not been able to locate them in any other record but I would guess they are old enough to all have been born before Amos the Tory was killed. The fact that it is a small family (5 children counting Wright & John's parent), compared to contemporary ones, might also indicate a father who died early. That of course would make Rosannah Amos the Tory's wife. I think if we assume she is the usual age for a grandmother with a 15 year old grandson (55+), that she then fits into the bef 1744 birth range. Does anyone have any dates for Amos? I guess we can assume he is (average) 10 plus or minus years from Ezekiel IF they are brothers. It is interesting that one of Rosannah's sons is named Amos. Do you happen to know where Tearcoat Swamp is located? I've seen at least two different names for the possible father of Ezekiel so obviously there is no definitive proof floating around. I don't see a common naming pattern in the two families so that doesn't help much either. Another GASKIN researcher thinks that Wright and John's father was John, but no proof of that. I'm casting a wide net at this point since this has been one of my tougher brick walls. I appreciate the land record info. I had not been able to find it on the Internet and I'm not close to SC presently. If you think of any other routes to pursue, let me know. Will let you know if I find anything.
