On the Bureau of Land Management I found that this Samuel P. Gaskin was listed as the Patentee for land in Jasper, Jones Counties (138.95 acres). Date was 5/25/1885. Does anyone know anything about this Samuel P. Gaskin? Am not sure I am on the right track with this but feel I need to check it out. Have been checking under Gaston for this family but have been told that the name was possibly Gaskin instead. I know that my grandmother had her brother's name listed as Gaskin in the family Bible.

Any help would be appreciated.
